The forward planning document contains several ICT tools. I chose Book Creator, AWWapp, IMovie and Greenscreen because I feel they aid in the students learning. Each individual has a preferred way to learn or a way that they will absorb information better (Hatami, 2013). Furthermore, Adult Learning Australia states that there are three learning styles visual, auditory and kinesthetic. The ICT tools I chose can be used to meet all three learning styles. As I have split the class so that the students have to work collaboratively, there is a good chance that there will be students with each learning style in each group. This means that the groups’ final products should have catered for each learning style. Meaning that the students who did not learn the content during the prior lessons will get a chance to create a piece of work that they will understand.
I used Book Creator in the first lesson because there are many stages in mitosis, meiosis and cell diffusion and it will simple enough for the groups to find pictures of each stage and write about them in their story. Moreover, felt that if they had to create the images from scratch it would be too complex for the year level.
I chose to get the students to use AWWapp so that they could collaboratively create their own image and notes for the organelles they were assigned as it would not be too hard to draw two images each.
Then I decided to let the groups try and combine their skills in the last lesson by using which ever movie making platform they wanted, which will include their own drawings notes images from the internet or video they have created.
